Hello,

I would like to ask for support for avif image format.

This is the same problem as the missing webp support and is related to the QT library.

If you have a connection to the developer, it would be good to discuss the two formats with him. Actually avif is more interesting because our test results gave much better image qualities at the same file size as webp.

Looks like a Qt AVIF loader exists, hopefully this can be distributed with Tiled easily enough.

As for WebP, that's a different problem - Tiled has a WebP plugin already, but it recently changed and has new dependencies Tiled is missing, so it stopped working. Tiled now needs to include or build those dependencies itself.

We still work with webp, but hold avif as the near future format. The only problem with avif, it is not supported by microsoft edge. However they already include support as a experimental future in browser, which means in couple month they will release the support.
